FAQs
TLC Moving & Delivery
Do you move outside of Barrie?
Yes! We serve Barrie and surrounding areas and offer long-distance moves within Ontario.
Can you move large or fragile items?
Absolutely. We specialize in moving pianos, antiques, artwork, and other delicate or heavy items safely.
Do you provide disassembly and reassembly of furniture?
Yes. We can disassemble furniture for safe transport and reassemble it at your new location.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking as early as possible, especially during peak moving season.
Are you insured?
Yes, we are fully licensed and insured in Ontario for your peace of mind.
Do you provide packing supplies or services?
While we focus on moving and delivery, we can advise on packing best practices and assist with loading and unloading packed items.
Can I get a quote?
Yes! Contact us by phone at 705-726-7919 or email and we’ll provide a free, personalized estimate based on your specific moving needs.
What should I do if I need to reschedule my move?
The sooner you give us notice, the easier it is to accommodate your needs.
Please, contact us as soon as possible to arrange for a new move date.
Do you charge extra free for handling pianos?
Yes. There are additional fees for handling pianos. The fee is based on the size of the piano and where it is located in the home. Please advise us prior to the move if you have a piano so we can ensure the proper equipment is available.
Is there an extra charge for wardrobes?
No. We provide wardrobes for you to use on the day of your move.
Can the mover arrange the furniture to my liking in my new home?
Absolutely. However, please remember that you are charged by the hour, so a significant amount of time spent rearranging the furniture will add to the total cost of the move. Having a plan in mind before
arriving at your new home will save a lot of time and money.
Should I tip my movers?
Moving is a service industry. While there is not a set amount of gratuity expected, unlike servers in restaurants, if you feel that the job was done efficiently and effectively, you should feel free to tip your movers accordingly.
Can I ride in the cab of the moving truck with my movers?
Unfortunately, moving companies cannot transport customers for insurance reasons.
What should I do with hazardous items?
We do not move items such as liquids, propane tanks, firearms and aerosols. It may be better to dispose of such dangerous items rather than moving them to your new home. Alternatively, you may wish to simply secure them in a safe place on moving day.
Additionally, make certain to empty the gas out of any gas‑operated items (lawnmowers, weed whackers, etc.) prior to your move.
What do I need to do to prepare my appliances for the move?
The movers will prepare these items for the move. However, you should make certain that your dishwasher, microwave, and washing machine are empty. Additionally, movers are not electricians or plumbers; you will need to arrange for the appropriate professional to disconnect your washer, chandeliers, refrigerator with water connection, etc. Most importantly, movers are not licensed to disconnect gas.
Can the mover dispose of excess trash?
Yes, but there is a charge for items taken to the dump, both for the labour involved in driving to and from the dump, as well as the disposal fee imposed by the management of the waste disposal location.
